Alrighty, well I don't mind national if they still get to be home 3 after 11-14 because that's what I was going to do anyway, its worth it to be able to keep my truck.
I've seen I guess the general rule is 65 miles is the perimeter for whether or not you can take your tractor home.
Any Questions about Roehl??

Depends I guess. When I lived in MA I took truck home even though I was only 20 miles from a drop yard.
-
Makes sense. I appreciate the help!

I'm on Hometime plus 7/7. I do not have a partner for the truck and my schedule is very flexible. I made all kinds of twists to facilitate the holidays. I also do a few extra days when I can.
I'm not even sure how well things will work out yet, but I am getting more efficient at moving all my stuff in and out of the truck for when the day comes. -
I don't necessarily consider taking the truck home as an advantage if you are near a terminal that has a maintenance facility. I did that once at a different company and all maintenance activities cut into my drive time. It was nice and convenient taking the truck home, which was about 200 miles from a terminal, but that truck had a lot of maintenance issues.
On the plus side, Roehl is pretty good about maintenance. This is my second time working here and my trucks have spent much less time in the shop than my 387 Peterbilt at Marten. I've also had a much more positive experience with the mechanics at Roehl. Nearly all of my maintenance issues were performed on my days off or a 10 hour break and they treat me like a human being that they are trying to work with rather than just another problem that they are trying to work against.
That's my experience at least. Others may disagree, but after chasing "greener pastures" I feel confident that Roehl does a better job maintaining their equipment (tractors at least) than many other companies.technoroom and rangerroy Thank this. -
Yes that is true, and if I was coming home KNOWING that my tractor had a problem, I would probably leave it with it with them but just for the general I'd like to take it home where I can give it a good detailing while I'm there.
Does Roehl have wash bays at the Terminals for the trucks? -
Some have automatic wash bays. However, the one in Gary is closed for repair, concrete floor issues I believe. Also, sometimes in the winter they are not available. Marshfield and Appleton terminals are working as far as I know.
I just ran mine through the wash when I went home last. I'll wash it again when I return if it is available. -
What speed are Roehl trucks governed at?
What is the truck wash policy?
What is the idle policy? -
63 with the throttle and 61 on cruise.
I'm not sure if there is a truck wash policy but I prefer to keep my truck clean and use the automatic wash bays to wash the outside.
I would have to lookup what the idle policy is. I know it's to be minimal. I only idle when the auto start runs to keep the bunk heater going. -
It's 63 on the cruise now too.
