Any idea how many miles a week the drivers out of Darlington S.C., who are on the 14on/7off, are getting.

I should be getting a call from Vern C. Thursday morning for a pickup here in Knoxville. I,ve been home since Saturday, it was nice weather, got to ride the Sportster twice and do honey-do's. Looking forward to going out on my first run.
I feel Green but still confident. I like driving anyway.

I'm heading to orientation on the 29th. I'm schedule to go up to Marshfield WI, but I will be driving right past the Gary terminal so I'm not sure why they aren't having me go there for orientation. Any idea why they would do that? I'm gonna call on Monday.

more than likely its cause the gary class is full for that timeframe. when i went through mine they said that marshfield and gary would be faster to get into but being i live 50 miles from the ellenwood terminal i decided to wait 30 days after school for a seat there... but it never hurts to call and find out.. good luck to you.

I noticed this thread was necro'd, so I went through the whole thing and here are some of my responses.

The other thing that the laminated versions do not have: Total miles through a state on 4 most traveled highways. I can't justify the cost of the laminated ones vs the paper one either. You can usually pick up the paper one on sale for $10 within a month of release, and my last one lasted me two years. Actually, I gave it to a friend for an atlas in his car, because it was still in really good shape. An atlas is like anything else, if you take care of it, it will last you.

If people have them falling apart in two weeks, then they need to examine how they organize, and treat their property!

I was beginning to think I was the only one who got extremely annoyed by the idle cut-off. The APU is nice, but having to wake up in the middle of the night when it's 10 degrees or lower to restart the engine (which takes at least 30 min to bring up to operating temp) is a pain in the rear! With Schneider, there were no APU's so it wasn't an issue, just idle the truck all night when it's going to be that cold. Can't do that here.

Yeah, these can come in handy sometimes :biggrin_255: Who doesn't like free coffee?

Living in Wisconsin you will mostly see Wisconsin to PA, then either pick up dry-freight coming back, or a freeze-protect load. Sometimes I feel like a ping-pong ball. WI, PA, WI, PA, IL, PA, WI, PA, MA, WI, PA, WI, CT, WI... etc... You will see some variance, but mostly it's the I-80 corridor from Chicago to PA/NJ line, I-90/94/39/43 or US-41 in Wisconsin.

I did get assigned a load from Sara Lee (New London, WI) going to Georgia on Friday, but I didn't have the hours to pull it, so they do exist... I just never get them, lol.

I fear change. What will we be doing wrong in this alleged new training? or, what were we doing wrong in the alleged previous training?
