Yea I don't think you get paid for it I'm talking about the start up cost. I live in nc it's gonna be at least $600 just to get there, and then I hear $600 just to get your license, not including food. From my standpoint that doesn't sound like its worth it. Still looking at least at $1200 before you feed your self. At that rate I can go to the local school right down the road

I looked at my paperwork and now, I am totally confused, so don't listen to me. I, in fact, found paperwork that says I will only be getting $25/per day for 10 days, (if I work 6 hours as a full day) for a total of $250. Or paid out to me after 60,000 of solo miles. Crap. I am beginning to think I will be Roehl's #####.

I have a couple of questions about the flatbed division. Is the 2000-2300 miles per week average pretty close to what I could see as a new driver? What are the authorized fuel stops? How often do you travel on I-81? How is the training at the Gary yard?

You get $90 per day as pay during your days out with a trainer if you have 6hrs of driving/on duty time. Less than 6hrs is half that. But any trainer worth a crap will ensure you get 6hrs even if you are sitting in a parking lot all day.
The $25 per day is the sign on bonus. It is paid at $25 per day, and any balance will be paid out after training. The $25 per day is to help you have money on hand during training for food/drinks/ etc... THE $25 and you take it out from an ATM each day. The next $25 will not be deposited unless you take out the previous $25. And any balance left over will be paid to you after your training is over.

My trainer told me there's a rumor that the MyRoehl app can track where you are, reads your text messages etc. if you download it on your phone. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Scott, go clean your windshield. Of the 3 Roehl trucks parked there your windows look the dirtiest. I'm pretty sure I know which is yours. If your wife has the dishes done maybe she'll do it.

Ok...here is the deal on the school. You pay 185.00 up front on the first day of school. You pay the state of Wisconsin 74.00 once you get your license. That is all the fees you need to pay. You are responsible for travel to Marshfield. You are responsible for travel to and from school once your in Marshfield. Rooms have microwave and small refrigerators. There is a top notch grocery store right next to the motel. At the end of school you are given a 250 dollar sign-on bonus. Like it was said before....25 per day for 10 days of training or 250 dollar lump sum at 60k miles. Roehl trains you on the same type of equipment that you will drive OTR. You will not training in a day cab and then be asked to drive a full size /sleeper truck. You are in school and are not considered and employee of Roehl until sign-on day. You will not be paid. If you want a good solid foundation for your driving career, go to Roehl.
