Roehl boasts measurement of "practical miles". WTF is that? and how does that differ from other company's miles? I've looked at some average OTR miles coming from Schneider drivers and they're talking about 2500 to 3000 except in slow season (Jan-Feb) where they say they drop to 2200-2300. Roehl says "we try to get our drivers 2300-2600....

I've read here your lucky to get 1700-1900. So what's really the story?:biggrin_2556:

When I was National Dry Van I averaged 2600 miles a week. I'm on a dedicated account now and I'm around 2300 miles but only out M-F.

Practical miles is a measurement as close to point A to Point B. Most companies only pay miles from the beginning edge of a zip code to zip code. Basically, this means they are shorting you paid miles and your doing some driving for free.

I'm 14/7 last time out miles were low, lowest since I've been here. Been here almost 6 months. This time out I left Thursday had a small relay to take. After that I deliver tomorrow and that'll put me at 3000. So it differs. For me more good mile weeks rather than low mile weeks for sure. Why I don't ask and complain because I know I'll be running like crazy soon after a bad week

Freight changes from day to day so in my experience there is no average in the respect the you're requesting.

^ 2nd that its different from day to day when your out. My longest was 1600 and shortest was 40. So what freight is around at the time your around in the geographical location is what you get. Sometimes with be alot of long hauls, some alot short hauls and some of both with a mix in between

I am starting in marshfield may 7th. I talked to kim my recruiter and asked if I could drop the trailer at a small truck stop by my house and bob tail home. she said that would be fine as long as im not under a high dollar load. Power lines should be 13'6", but if they are older lines they could possibly be lower. I would go real slow the first time you drive the truck through there, possibly have a spotter with you.

I'm also out jax I'd just leave the truck and trl there and get picked up or drive home. I personally wouldn't want to guess how tall or short something is. Just my 2 cents I probably.don't understand your situation, maybe don't have a car or someone to pick u up Idk just sayin

Yeah I would rather leave my truck in the DY in Jax than have JSO try to put extra holes in it (those of you from jax know how JSO's trigger fingers are LOL)

no in all seriousness though...I just found it easier to leave it in the DY than trying to get home in it.....plus I didn't have to give up driveway space for a truck either...lol
