    10 Day Orientation Question:

I know several of you have documented the process pretty well but was wondering if there might be some type of information one could read up on? Class out line or hand outs?

    Thanks

Everything about driving, coupling, loading, unloacig etc. Is covered, if you have any questions about anything ask as you go along, they will hand out a syllabus but it wasn't very well covered in order, everything and more is covered but you will have a general outline, I would highly recommend you going to W/S and get some experience, then if you feel you are ready to move o. Then you can, I did and am sitting in my final days of orientation.

I'm looking at attending orientation on May 2nd and am very excited! W/S is my first choice out of school and I'm honored to be given the chance to work with such an awesome and professional team. :) Sandy Steffke has been my recruiter and she is awesome. She has been very helpful with all my questions. I told her that I didn't want to just quit my job and wanted to give a proper 2 week notice to my employer as they have been very good to me. I also expressed my concern about quitting my job and finding out after the fact that I wasn't going to be offered a position with W/S and she totally understood. She is actually having all my background and work history and all that stuff ran before I give my notice with my current employer. She is making sure its all done by next Friday so that I can comfortably give my notice. How awesome is that! Most other companies won't do anything until you get to orientation and then send you packing with no job. That just scares me to much as I have bills to pay and can't really afford to be out of work for an extended period of time. Ok I'm blabbing now so I'll be quiet. LOL Just want to say thanks to all of you W/S Drivers for the comments in the forums and I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Yes, W/S is a very good company to go to work for, you being out of Wyoming you will do well there, they will treat you well as well, if I can give you any advise at all,
Just be honest with them, they will check everything out and will let you know as to whether or not you are invited to orientation, then you will have to show that you can cut the mustard, I meqn that you can double clutch and be able to think on the fly etc, just be very safety conscious and you will do fine, since you are from Wyoming you may just make it a career. Best of luck. TD24

This thread has been VERY helpful guys. Good W/S stuff here

A few things.........several books on entering this profession. Amazon has several I've seen; being several years out to join the road do you think a waste of time to read that stuff?

Also, W/S Roxy let me know there's a terminal in Spokane, WA. What's there. I spoke with her, just before she split I guess. Roxy really listened to me, hope the new person's as well.

Wyoming Jynxx/guys out West partic........I'd like to talk more directly to you guys about rollin' with Watkin's in the future. If don't mind a bit of messaging please, life to plan for.

Thanks for all postings/poster's! Learning alot.
