Started orientation in Conover on Monday. Hauling my first load with RL tomorrow. 8 stops all in NC. Should be interesting. They had us driving around with the loaded trailer today, that was different to say the least. So far impressed with the organization.

Yeah man, you may have heard this before at least once, practice and double clutch, volunteer for anything Kelby needs done, if he needs the trash taken out grab it and then ask where to take it, if he wants the trucks coupled and brought up front do it, if he cracks a joke laugh at it, have your nose so far up that if he stops to fast we will loose you till next time... fluff him with the OOOLa La girls, offer to buy him a drink if you get by one of the several locations. And last but not least practice and practice even more, be prepared for anything they throw at you, pay close attention to what they say, they will try to trick you but if you listen to what they say you will be part of the trick not the trickee.. Driving with RL was fun. Better than the instructor I had at my trucking school.

RL is great. Learned a lot from him in one day.

Even though I wasn't there long, I'm taking what I learned from him where I'm at now. I'm about to meet my trainer at Prime and get my miles started. I told Tim that I'll likely come back to W/S, but once I become more confident and maybe when I have my own truck.

so who was speeding round the side streets of missoula today?? there were two people in the truck so maybe someone on 10 day?? (speeding was probably the wrong choice of words....creeping maybe?)

I'm still waiting to hear how my application is going....:)

Well the first week is over, There are 11 of us and as far as I know all 11 will be there on monday, I really wish there weren't so many so we could get more time in the drivers seat, but what are you going to do. We all are having a rough time shifting and getting are log books just perfect. It kind of reminds me of bootcamp for truck drivers. At times I just want to go home at other times I think I couldn't be in a better place to learn what I need to learn to go out on my own. Kelby can be cool at one minute and in the next like an evil stepmother LoL. I think he is in the process of weeding us out so I suppose he has no other option than to be that way. Rick is mostly comedy relief but you learn alot from him. My biggest problem is CDL school just doesn't prepare you for driving they just push you through the process of passing the DOL test instead of teaching you to drive a truck. I hope I'm ready when this thing is over. I really don't want to go out if I'm not a safe driver I couldn't imagine hurting someone because I'm not ready this week we only got out on the road twice I think we all need much more time behind the wheel. Well I have to go and do laundry and get in some practice time I want to be prepared for monday. Thanks for the advice everyone.
