I'd think the same thing, the more you simply accomplish that routine paperwork.........the more it'd become 2'nd nature and just part of the daily grind; I've got a paperwork thing at my job (not truckin') too guy's.
Any questions from prospects or lookers from real Watkins and Shepard drivers?

they give you a route, but if for whatever reason you need to go another way just go they wont complain unless your adding a TON of OOR miles
Yes we only use our trailers, we dont load anything and the only thing we unload is furniture and Peir 1 or somthing like that out west, everything else is on the customer to get out.

I really like that part of this place. -
Well I was let go after the first week I cut someone off on the uphill downhiil test, I did well on the shifting but I think I scared the hell out of Rick when I pulled out too wide out of the truck stop and pulled back in the right lane infront of someone trying to get around on my right lane I think I did well otherwise. My shifting and backing were fine and I did practice alot but it seemed like they let everyone over 40 go I thought I did better than most of the drivers that got to stay. They had 11 people in the class so I guess they kept the young guys but they invited me back after I get 6 months under my belt otr. By the way I did get to meet American Trucker while I was there he seems like a nice guy I was glad to meet him.

Doubt age had anything to do with it...I was 48 when I went through. Orientation is to see if you can operate the rig safely, obviously you didn't.
-
I didn't mean to sound like age was the only factor I probably worded it wrong. But it was a large class and everyone who was left was under 40 I didn't mean to say they were age discriminating and also I didn't feel like I am ready to go out without a trainer. I feel they made the right choice in that situation.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. Keep us posted on where you end up going and how things go.

I'm 47 and the youngest one in our orientation group. Should get a truck tomorrow. W/S seems to have the most diverse work force I have ever seen. No one is too young, too old or I almost said too dumb but I was getting carried away. Anyhow, age discrimination, I don't think so.

Hey, sorry to hear it didn't work out for you, I don't thin k they looked at that, go get in a trainer company and come back or go somewhere else, I was 45 but I had old man Dick and Kelby to deal with.
