FWIW, I was asked (urged) to help unload 45k pounds of flour at the Sacramento Baking Company last week using a pallet jack. What made it interesting was that the trailer was on a slight incline with the ### a little higher than the nose. Oh well, the workout did me good.
However, I have had plenty of time to recover in the week I have been home with my truck in the shop getting a few DoT violations and APU fixed.
Any questions from prospects or lookers from real Watkins and Shepard drivers?

Found out today I will be getting one of the chocolate colored '06 Freightliner Columbia, really don't care as long as it's in decent shape. They all pay the same to drive and being a newbie I have to start somewhere. Truck is to arrive in Conover tomorrow.

so you can get those flour pallets off with a jack? good to know whats what im fearing i have to look forward to tonight. only thing i hate worse than manual labor is lumpers hahaha...so there ya go.
i had sugar pallets once a long time ago and i couldnt move them because a similair incline situation. there were like a 2100 lbs each. and i had to sit there all night until i could get a tcheck for the lumpers. wasnt bad enough, im just ########, i wont wake up dispatch or anyone unless its an emergency or really bad situation. -

Joe and I were talking about this and agree it is far harder to learn to drive a truck when you get older. So there may be more older drivers cut simply because it is harder for them (*cough* us) to learn a new skill than the younger guys. -
here's a question...when your sittin in a truckstop far from home for a 34hrs restart, can you lock the truck up and go do stuff for the day???, or do you need to stay with the truck...??
