This is a useful thread. Thank you for your replies.

I just read an older thread that mentioned this but will ask the questions here:

    1) Might the fact that W/S sends you out without a trainer hurt your opportunities in the future should you decide to leave them?

    2) Since the LTL regional furniture runs don't hit the Rocky Mountains, could that hurt you in the future as well?

    Thanks again!

    1) nope if you can go solo without a trainer and have no issues, they wont have to worry about you

    2) we do ltl in all 48 states

That is interesting. I wonder if something has changed recently though. I spoke with a recruiter last week and he said the regional was everything east of the Rockies.

Anybody work out of the Sayreville, NJ. terminal? Watkins might be tops on my list.

Not sure if this helps, but in talking with Sandy, OTR is all that is being offered to recent grads. It may be my hiring area (Ca), but just thought I'd toss in a few cents.

P.s. Thanks to all the W/S drivers that contribute to this forum, the good and bad info has been helpful, will find out in a few days if I'm going to the August 22nd 10 day in MT...:biggrin_255:

Thats for most of the country on the east coast they are ONLY hireing East Coast Regional Drivers.

Money is about the same either way, only differance is the regional drivers are home allot of weekends....

Makes sense. I figure I will end up east of the Mississippi until I ask to go home, kinda seeing that's how OTR works with most companies, but I could be wrong..
