W/S is on the top of my list of companies to goto after truck school. The only thing that is holding me back is that I seem to read that the equipment and trucks are subpar. Can some current W/S drivers give me their feelings on this?
I've seen at least 2 people post that they left W/S over there trucks not being very good.
Thanks -
I don't think their trucks are subpar, they may not be 'new' but that's trucking...The good thing about the company in that regard is that IF something breaks, it gets fixed ASAP...I've never had a problem getting something fixed in the fastest time possible...AND never caught grief for asking for it to get fixed...That is far from what I hear from other companies...Things will always happen, it's how they're handled that separates one company from the next...
KayNJake Thanks this. -
Ya, The trucks are old and do have problems, just drove the training truck here in Missoula Montana but seem to be in good condition tomorrow I will tell you more for now just driving a Freight Liner and could only get to 6th gear bob tailing around the yard. Did a qualacom class and went over our home work on trip packs. The weather today was rainny and cloudy, but surprisingly not too cold yet . Except for in the rooms they have the A/c on seems like all the time. Some of the truckers here in the brake room have complained about there trucks and did talk to instructor about that and said no worries, but do a good check before driving. They do understand the driver wants to drive and drive a safe truck. Some trucks take time do to big problems. like turbo going out. Jake's not working and I saw a engine torn apart in the shop.

so, here I am once again trying to make it through a night when a driver comes in and starts to complain about a piss poor job the shop has done on a repair to a truck makes me wonder if I will be in a truck like that I can not afford to not make miles or money do to a mechanic siting around doing nothing Makes me feel like I should just leave and go to CR England but willing to stay here because the dollar goes a long way with no Sales tax in the big sky country , Today s driving was not too good but made it through the rain and my shifting was not as good as the other student driving around the yard bob tailing to get use to truck in yard did help so I will see how it goes tomorrow. The It did not block truckers Report here but should only me and another guy are here so small class. The training truck is a old Columbia class Freightliner and seems OK has a turbo in it so sounds like a jet engine. keep you informed on how things go but for now just going to stay.

Today I spoke to Watkins recruiting and they told me Chicago is not in there hiring area, but the closest terminal would be Indianapolis and I do not mind driving that far also I plan on being out months at a time she still said no. Is there any way you guys know of that can help me.
