I have been looking at Swift. I know that Larger companies are great for recent cdl grads because of "insurabiltiy" I am not going to Swift School.
Need to get info from "newbies" with Swift on how it is going for them. I have also looked at US Xpress and Stevens. Thanks for the info!
Any recent grads driving for Swift now?

Hey Jmorgn -
I started with Swift early this year. So far, things have been going pretty well. They generally keep me rolling, and Swift has delivered on everything that was promised. In a few short months, I have been to nearly all of the lower 48 states and several Canadian provinces. I usually get home on or about the day that I request(doesn't always work out that way - depends on where you are and what freight is available). I run 2200-2700 miles per week, although I am working to increase that number. PM me with any specific questions ya have.
I encourage you to read through some of the newbie threads in the Swift forum - there is a ton of helpful information in there.BigShrek72 Thanks this. -
Graduated end of march. Started with swift apr 6th ina truck on the 8th and finished training in 30 paid days. So far solo for 4 days. Swift has been good to me. Put me on the route I wanted with the hometime I wanted. Decent truck, well what you could expect to get. Miles have been good so far. Only thing I would say is learn whatever you can from a mentor. A good mentor will teach you what you ask him to my mentor was great. I told him what I wanted and needed to work on and he let me. Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most. I have at least 2 ahh haa moments on things that stuck after you get away from your mentor. Also helps to have a good DM. Hope this helped. There is a whole post about my training

Thanks Tapeworm..Just wanted to hear from someone who was fresh with Swift. THANKS AGAIN!!
Tapeworm Thanks this. -
Stevens may or may not want you. They like to run you through their school. And they also want to shove a lease up yer butt ASAP!
US Express wants you to run team for 6 months. Usually 6 weeks of training cures newbies of that idea.
I may not be qualified to comment as I was a newbie in February last year. It was a great place to start OTR. I had a great trainer, and 2 other people that knew the ins and outs of the mega carrier game. -
I got my CDL with swift and have been solo going on 3 weeks now. They keep me rolling, averaging around 2500 miles so far. They seem to like to keep me east right now so that took some getting used to since we ran mostly west with my mentor. So far so good here.

Thanks Rug Trucker,
Speaking of lease, I spoke with Covenant couple days ago. First thing they wanted me to do was team. That took care of that! Thanks for the info! -
Thanks Neal79!
