This program seems very cool for those with a laptop, aircard and no GPS, any reviews?

Do you mean microsoft streets and trips?

I've been using various versions of it over the road since 2000. It DOES NOT do truck legal routing. But checking routing against an atlas takes just a minute and you only really need to do that if you are getting off the national truck route system.

But I love it for the balloon notation ability. I have been putting in truck stop and customer locations for years. I also do my own personal avoid area for both truck legal and personal routing.

You do not need an aircard to use MS Streets and Trips and you do not need a GPS. It runs on the hard drive of your laptop. You can send maps to a mobile device but I have never messes with that.

I do run a Garmin GPS but I lay out the route and play with routing options in MS Streets figuring my break locations etc.

2010 Streets and Trips is great..
Well worth the money, I had the 2003 the 2007 and now the 2010
I'll never go with out it.. Its maps out rest breaks, fuel cost, etc
but like the other post said, its going to take you down any street
so always confirm with a map ...
    Good Luck

One of the nicest features about it is when you do have internet service it can give you the aerial photo by way of the Bing page, which I have found to be very helpful to see which side of a building the loading dock is on, or driveway entrance etc. The only bad thing about using these photos is they do not represent the situation well when the place is on the side of a hill, the photos make everything look nice and flat.

I use an older program since I do not always wish to have the computer hooked to the internet.

    Gets costly in Canada.

I use it, with gps, and have a add on program truck stops plus that has points for truckstops, scales, can check low clearances. Using a laptop has a bigger Screen. Will do turn by turn if you wish. Like anything else you need to use your knowledge to check your route.
My out of route miles are 1.5% on practical miles.
