Its called Truck Stops Plus 2011.
Google it, it is specific for Streets and Trips.
It has a FREE try it b4 you buy it download.

Pinpoints most every truck stop out there, shows there size of parking area, if they have scales, what kind of food. Has truck washes, state scales, rest areas, turnpike service plazas with sizes of parking.
You can also check restricted routes and low clearances.

    Also has WalMart locations.

It is 40 bucks to by, but well worth it.

I use Streets and Trips, and regular update it to get construction info, I know where the truck stops are in a area, some I never knew existed.
I have my laptop, so 40 bucks for the truckstop program and 40 bucks for Streets and Trips, far cheaper than those other GPS deals. I bought my GPS receiver from E-bay, but you can buy Streets and Trips with a USB GPS receiver, but will probably need to by a extension usb cord to place it near a window.

I know my route, I can reroute if need to in a snap. I know where I am going to stop ahead of time. My out of route is minimal. This set up works for me.

A couple screen shots of Truck Stops Plus.
Give you a idea of how it is laid out on screen.
The red flag is a state scale, blue star is walmart, the major truck stops Petro T/A Pilot etc are labeled, independents are a stop sign, then can click on icon to get more info, rest areas.

I use Google Maps alot also. I have a Android phone, Basically I stab in the address where I am picking up or delivering to, the check out the area and my route on the satellite view, gives me a idea of the lay of land, docks, and how to approach. The company I drive for typically 95% of the time has directions already, but it is best to take those with a grain of salt, and check things out ahead of time.

I like it a lot. Mine has a USB plug in GPS sensor so my laptop is my GPS. It will automatically generate the route between points, but you can very easily click and drag the route line with the mouse to customize it. This is very important so that you can customize the route for where a Truck can go.

In a pinch it has also helped me locate nearby Rest Areas. Also after you customize the route getting the exact Miles is helpful for trip planning.

Again just be careful with any GPS. As long as you review the route and customize the route for Truck use it can be very helpful.

If you run OS/OW it's a great tool to put your routes into and just let it lead you there.
I just mark my start and stop points let it route then drag the route to what the state wants me to run:biggrin_25525:

I've been using S&T for several years - an excellent program and as has been already said, the 2010 version is great. Go to http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/ and download the POI database (free - big file). From that you can add truckstops, scales, low overpasses etc to your maps. I also use the RM TND700, and if not for space considerations I'd prefer to use S&T. On trips where I haven't been to a particular receiver, I use S&T to verify the RM info.

I've been using it and loving it!...I'm going to DL the POI database soon!...I'm still using the maps for a while, if I can't use them and laptop craps out, I'll be SOL...Basics first, for me at least...

Microsoft Streets and Trips is a very powerful route planning and productivity tool. Does NOT have truck restricted routes – but as stated earlier – easy to compare your planned route against a truckers atlas.

Here’s a couple of Tutorials on using Streets and Trips to search along the route and plan for refuel stops.

Searching along a section of your route
Premise: Have 10 hours to drive – want to stay at a hotel….need options based on where I might be near the end of my drive time.

    Planning Refuel Stops
Premise: 700 miles to go – 600 miles of fuel in the tanks – need to fuel at a company authorized fuel point – don’t want to stray too far off the highway.

For trucker friendly data points – check out the POI Mega File at the Streets and Trips Blog.

Microsoft S&T is great if u have the add-on Truckstopplus on top of it. Without Truckstopplus is just a piece of junk. I use MS&T ONLY because of the add-on earlier mentioned.
Every new edition of MS&T since 2007 has at least one bug. Next year version they fix that bug and come up with another one. On 2011 version they didn't even bother to fix the bug from 2010 and they released 2011 with the same bug from 2010. I consider this total disrespect for the customer.
In Canada the routes update is still at 2006 level. In USA is a bit better(a lil'bit).
For a truck driver Truckstopplus worth way more than MS&T itself.

    Mister MyPointExactly, nice try !

MS Streets and Trips WITH Truck Stop Plus is required for me. The person who publishes TSP does a perty good job of blocking out routes that are not truck routes....Yes he does, I have researched it. Never the less if you do not verify your route either against your fuel route (ex swifty here) or the Atlas ..... well your just a fool.

Bottom line its worth 10 times the price to me. Never once have I EVER been lost with MS Steets and Trips.
