Have y'all noticed a slowdown in mileage here lately with the economy in turmoil?
What's your average mileage, and would this be a bad time to get in trucking?

absolutely this would be a horrible time to get into trucking. i was going to head off for training earlier this month and sacked my plans at the last minute because of the economy. if you have a job right now, keep it ... i wouldn't throw it away for this ######## industry anytime soon.

the more consumers pucker up, the worse things are going to get ... and don't expect an "election" to cure anything long term, either.

Yeah , there's a slowdown in miles with companies turning the speeds of their trucks back . If Yellow wants to turn their trucks back to 62 , fine . But when their management calls for a national 62 m.p.h. truck speed limit and Yellow trucks are passing me speeding in 55 m.p.h. construction zones that ain't right .

I dunno bout yall...But my ### is dragging.

We clipped a lot of our short line drivers. So, the miles are getting spread out among the other drivers.

Personally...I don't want all the miles I'm getting.

Our fleet is usually slammed with freight for the holidays. This year we've been cut back on our hours and loads are canceling a lot.
