Very true. If someone is stuck, my dad uses his $200, pop the hood to start it, old silverado to pull them out.

Im working on getting my AZ in ontario right now and both my grandfathers were truck drivers. As a kid in the summer i would go with one of them so ive seen a lot of miles. So when i drive a car i understand to flash my lights when getting passed, giving enough room , blind spots, ect. But there are people that dont understand that a truck can stop on a dime or cant see them at certain points. It could be that or they are scared. You are a lot bigger. And some people are just stupid.

Very well put and I completely agree!

It is sort of funny. Particularly working in the oil fields, most of the people out there either have CDL's or have spent a lot of time riding in an 18 wheeler. So especially out near the job sites the 4's are pretty courteous. You'll be getting ready to make a turn onto a narrow dirt road and the 4 will stop very far short of the intersection.
You'll look up and think "Dang that guy must be a trucker !!" and sure enough as you go by his F-250 has an oil drilling company's name on it and you instantly know he probably at least has a CDL lol !!
I do appreciate it when 4's do stuff like that, especially when they give us the room we need to swing wide and safely make turns at intersections. Always try to give them a thumbs-up, wave, or even hollar thanks out the window.48Packard Thanks this. -
I will pull up short at an intersection where I see a truck driver trying to make a lef-hand turn so he has enough room. What really irks me is the four-wheeler behind me that honks. To the four-wheeler doing this: Honk all you want. I won't change my driving habit!
Tenspeed70 Thanks this. -
As a four wheeler, I see good drivers and bad drivers. If the driver that passed me with his tires STILL IN MY LANE would have been a truck driver, me and mine probably wouldn't be here for me to type about it. It was a Pontiac Grand Prix, with a younger male driver. Karma is an equalizer, though. About two miles down the road, he bit it. Totaling his pretty green GP in the wires in the median. Saw him standing looking at the front end (bumper on the ground) and left side (totally mangled) like he had no clue how it had happened. He lost control on Speed Trap Hill is what happened.
I've had truck drivers with their grill in my rear view, I've had 4 wheelers with their grill in my rear view. I've had truck drivers let me in (and I didn't hit my brakes!) and I've had 4 wheelers do the same. I've had both be complete jerks. It doesn't matter what you drive. It's just if you have a big rig with 44K in the box or on the flat, you are gonna do more damage to me than that plastic Camero. Either way, I'm going to take care of my own vehicle, and do what I need to do to keep me and mine safe. -
Had one stay back in his lane and block traffic so I could make a right hand turn in downtown Sun Valley, ID. I was very appreciative since I had to use three lanes on my road and three lanes of the road I was turning onto.

I had an Audi slow down and flash his lights to me on the Jersey Turnpike a few weeks back. I was approaching another truck and wouldn't cut in on him. Then backed out of it and flashed me. Of course I made sure he knew I appreciated his efforts. I just about gave him a blinking light show back there.
