Allow me to repeat:
Shocks and airbags operating properly make a huge difference in the quality of the ride. Tires, too.
I’ve used aftermarket cushions after having issues with a sore tailbone, but based on advice I got here, I adjusted the air ride on my seat so that my feet reached the floor but without any weight on them. I keep the seat back up fairly straight, and I adjust the armrests to be just under my arms when I’m holding the wheel. I drive alert but relaxed, and rarely have any issues. I ended up giving away my extra seat cushion!
Any suggestions for dealing with back and neck problems caused by a bumpy ride?

I’ve recently found shock therapy for the same kind of pain and it’s been a god send, pricey, but my health and overall life satisfaction is worth it.

If you can find it, this DVD has a lot of good stretches you can do in bed. It's narrated by Alexander Melleby of the YMCA.
