I work for vdot looking for extra income. Problem is most local companies work same hours as my current job. I'm looking for night or weekend work. I have a class A with hazmat tanker.

Live in Virginia near Newport news.

Passenger Bus Endorsement if you can get one you could get on with a limo company over the weekends.

There's not awhole lot of local carriers looking for part time drivers, its either all or nothing. There is a company called PTI,you drive a shuttle van picking up rr crews. They hire nation wide if you live within 30 minutes of a PTI.They hire parttime and fulltime driver.Just google PTI you'll find their website. The pay isn't very good though but if you just want a second job I would give them a call but first go to their website and see if you're located in their hiring range.

You can try the local LTL companies (all of them). One that I had worked for had part time weekends only, and part time "truckload" work nights. Many times these do go to the full time employee's that want the extra hours, but at certain times of the year, they get bombarded with over flow.

If they do not have part time work, you still have options, fill out an application anyways, they may call you, and most times, they very well may have dock work around the clock. Or yardman's work.
