Hi all haven't posted on here in a long time I'm a Tri-axle Dump truck driver from Fl trying to connect with others who are still surviving this market. Right now as many of you probably already know Fl is a pretty bad place to be if your a dump truck O/O. Work is scarce pay is extremly low and brokers are really abusing the truckers just so they can get by themselves. So I just wanted to start this thread to see If I could connect with other O/O in this market from Fl or other states.

    There's still a few about......

I was replacing a tire at the GCR in Fontana, CA and talked to an Owner and her driver...
They run transfers and do a little dirt work....She said they're surviving and charge in the $80 range for Tens and $90 range for truck and pup on dirt work and demo....

Most of the Super 10's have Bottom-fed the rates in Cali....they're running about $50-65/h........

I left the biz back in '08 and have never looked back....
Everybody I know who is still running dumps is struggling....

There used to be a 4 hour minimum....No longer....
There used to be show up time pay...No longer.....

The bottom-feeders ruined it for Cali based dump O/O's.....

It will be interesting when CSA goes into full force....I hope DOT puts every single one of those bottom-feeders out of all trucking!

I did bottom dumps in Ca. for years. The trucking owners screwed themselves somewhat by being bashful in asking/demanding pay for show-up or 4 hr. minimums. Don't want to ruffle the contractors feathers you know.

    Contractors get minimums...why can't O/O's?

When I was a foreman if I fired up a backhoe for 5 minutes...We charged SCE 6 hours at $120/H.......That was back in the early '90's....
