The problem isn't modulation, it's feedback. There's very little force difference between 10psi and 30psi, and force is a far better feedback mechanism than position.

The fact that a cdl holder is on the internet asking this question actually scares me. I gotta tell my family to stay off the road for good

Yes linear feel, but you soon learn how far to pull it once you get using it regularly.

This is true. I still think it's a bad habit to get into.

Any recommendations for tire cables?. I have the regular chains on my truck but I have a personal no chain policy so the bags stay sealed on them.

Ran into a small problem when trying to hook a trailer with light snow on the ground that I am thinking cables or even socks would have solved. Someone mentioned just getting a couple regular dog chain/leashes and putting those on, but I can't imagine the damage those could cause if they started flailing around on a spinning drive. Just need something quick and easy that will get me under (or out of a parking spot) a trailer on slick surfaces.

Cables dont have the same bite as chains do when it comes to snowpack and ice. I got my cables from quality chain corp. They are called the king cobra cables. No cam tool required. My complaint with them is the hardware on them that I use to tighten the cables to the tires comes apart after many uses and ive had to rig up metal s hooks from my bungees in place of this hardware. Not a huge deal because the cables themselves have held up really well running the northwest and off road haul roads as well up to 12% grade fully loaded. This is my 2nd season with them and got about 30+ uses out of them with no problems other than the linking hardware falling off. But like I said easy fix

Thanks for the recommendation. I can't foresee using cables for more than 20-30ft maybe two or three times per season. It's usually trailer drop lots that I get stuck. If highways are bad enough to need cables or chains, I park.
