6105666B-CC3E-4AF4-BEBE-474F81895B32.jpeg I thought this was going to be an easy job... but no! There’s no clearance lol

I tried moving the leveling valve on the cab air bags, and using a bottle jack to lift the cab. But the good spots for me to push up on are not places I have a firm place for the bottle jack.

someone just told me to loosen the fuel tank straps and rotate the tank? Sounds like a good idea except I don’t know how to do that yet.

And of course I have a full tank of diesel like I always do when I go home to help prevent algae growth.

thanks in advance for any tips or methods on loosen the tanks!

You talking about the float in the tank?

Round fuel tank? I'd run the tank down low, loosen the straps and turn the tank down a bit so you have room. Replace the float assembly and rotate the tank back into position.

Ok I see the bolts back here. I’m assuming these need to be loosened a bit to get the tank loose and free? DD9E005C-8084-4421-BDDA-FD70A26F84EA.jpeg

How much room in other tank?
Have you checked availability of tank straps in case you snap T bolt?

Looks like I got about 4-6 inches of play before the fuel line hits the frame A723AD61-8B7C-40A1-A61E-771DDFDA845B.jpeg

Does your truck have J-brackets supporting the tank? Or is it a Pete with that stupid setup where they hang the tank by the straps?

If you've got J-brackets under the tank, I'd slack them right off or take them off completely. Take your time because if the nuts are seized, you'll likely be buying new straps if you twist them.

Yeah mine is the j-bracket style I believe. 2000 Volvo.

So you wouldn’t put the M18 Milwaukee on it? Maybe just a regular 1/2 ratchet or breaker? EEBCFA19-90E6-43F1-831D-454A0C619E12.jpeg
