So how many of you TMC drivers are trainers? I was just curious as to how long it takes before you can become a trainer.
Also which of you are trainers because I am going to be getting on with TMC here in the middle or end of september and would not mind finding a trainer and actually talking to him about having somebody that I would kind of know before I start driving again. Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Any TMC trainers out there?

Im not a trainer but I know the answers to your questions. It takes 6 months in your truck to become a trainer which I believe is way to short a time to train anyone. As to finding a trainer and getting to know him before hand. If you can find one in your area and get to know him you can request that person for you trainer. The department that matches driver trainers with new guys is pretty good. You give them some personal info and hobbies and such and they try and match you with someone with similar intrests. Good luck with your endeavor.

Cool thanks sabre. Hey have you been with TMC for your 2 years you have been driving?

Yea Ive been with TMC for 2 years now. I really like the company alot. They treat me well and if there is a problem with equipment they get it fixed. In the 2 years ive been with them Ive averaged about 2700 miles a week. I run on percentage and stay about 28-30%. After I get unloaded and send my MT in I rarely sit for more than 10-20 minutes before theyve got another load for me to go pickup.
Starting out pay for percentage is 23% for the first month and can go up to 32% after that with a minimum of 25% after the first month. As to CPM pay Im not sure what the start pay is. I dont know if they will hire you on as a new driver or experienced so that will make a difference. Living in Il is a good place to be based out of for home time. As to staying out for 2 or more weeks at a time TMC is pretty good at running you but you have to expect to sit about 1/2 the time.
It all depends on where you are and what freight is available and depends on the planners. The FMs are pretty much just a middle man between Drivers and Planners -
Cool I appreciate the info Sabre. I talked to them and they said I need to take a refresher course which I am going through right now through the military. They said I need to go out with a trainer since I have 0 flatbed exp. They said a max of 5 weeks with one so thats ok with me. I just want to get into my own truck and start makin money again. What are there trucks set speed set at? 63?

currently they are at 62mph but I heard that they may be turning them back up to 65mph by the end of the year but you know how rumors go.
