Anybody else planning on firing ITS?

Internet Truckstop is taking their "Classic" site offline tonight. I wrote them over a year ago about what a pain the ITS2 site is to use, and got basically no response, other than to tell me about their webinars on how to use ITS2. I told them that Facebook, Google, Craigslist, etc, didn't need webinars for their users to use them, and that knowing how to use the site wasn't the problem, it's how long it takes to navigate it while you're creating and saving new searches, and opening and closing pop-ups to look at each individual load. I got no response.

I told them in my original email that if they discontinued the ITSClassic site, that I would fire them. They have come up with what they're calling "Classic 3.0," which is every bit as big of a debacle as the ITS2 site. At any rate, if the regular classic site is gone in the morning, I plan on calling them and canceling my account. I get so few of my loads from there anymore I figure it won't make that big of a difference. I signed up with OOIDA's members edge board a while back, and while I don't like it as much as ITSClassic, it beats the pants off of ITS2 or ITSClassic 3.0.

If you don't use ITS, I know most of that was Greek to you, but I just wanted to see if anyone else hated the ITS2 site as much as I do.

I thought I was the only one. I seriously didn't want to "get use to" something that I thought was fixed when it wasn't broken. I really didn't think I had the time to mess with it. BUT I did get use to it. Just try it for a couple weeks. If you still think you don't want it, then get rid of it. My 2 cents. Btw, a search sits there and automatically refreshes constantly. All you gotta do is glance at it to see if any new load has been posted.

IT'S2 absolutely BLOWS. I've been more than happy with classic for years. And classic 2.0 is going to classic 3.0......whatever that entails.

Give it time. I thought the same but I. Really like the new style you don't have to type in your serch every time if you are looking for loads out of same area instead of typing in same thing every week all you have to do is change date I like that also have you tried the phone site for Its? Can't say that I really have any issue with the pop-ups, but I'll admit they're busier than they need to be. I think web developers in general get out of control adding worthless features and formatting. But that's another rant for another time.

I've found my usage of ITS has followed the same habits I use on Landstar. I have about a dozen or so multi-state searches that favor a market area. When I have a truck in the area I tweak the nearest one with an exact location. For example, I'm generally looking for the same destinations from just about anywhere in East Texas any time I'm there. Change the city from Pittsburg to Fort Worth and I'm done.

Now if TQL would limit one post per load with actual locations, and Stevens would list loads that actually exist, both ITS and Members Edge would be better places.

OK, I have to admit, I didn't know they had a mobile site. Pretty handy, and still allows for tabbed browsing. Might be a game-changer for me. I wonder why they didn't tell me about it when my main complaint was about not being able to open each load in a new tab..I also said that ITS2 was basically useless on a smartphone. Again this was over a year ago, so they might not have had the mobile site up at that point. Red, I don't have a problem with a pop-up reminder every once in a while, it's the load information coming up in a pop-up, and only being able to look at one load at a time. It's OK (but not great) when you have a fast internet connection, but when you're in BFE somewhere opening new tabs and closing them one at at time saves a lot of time.

Classic 3.0 is strikingly similar to ITS2. I wouldn't want to be working the phones at ITS today....

Yeah, it's like it incorporates all the bad parts of classic and ITS2. I may just keep using the mobile site. It's like an even blander version of classic.

OK.. I wasn't clear on your use. I wasn't referring to the "are you still there?" reminders, although that is annoying too. Dynamic internal frames for load info are just bad design, period. Unfortunately it's a whistle/bell that web developers seem to think is the next coming of Christ these days.

You can still open load detail pages in separate tabs, albeit it is slow. Click on a load to get it's details displayed. Now right-click in a blank area and find the option "open this frame in a new tab." I've verified it in both Safari 5.1.2 on Mac and Firefox 6.0 on Vista. The slowness comes from loading the content twice. You won't get much advantage with Members Edge as it opens a frame too, then if you click the print icon it opens the details in a new window. Do it on a second load and the details load in the same new window, losing the first one to history. You'll probably just have to try some different things to see what works best.

I'd never considered doing what you describe due to my desktop already being pretty busy. I've usually got too many browser windows open, with several tabs of related content in each, to be able to keep track of yet another one. That puts me at about my multi-tasking limit when on the phone. When I'm shopping loads I just use post-its to capture notes quickly by hand while running miles and rates in the background on the computer. When I'm done I stick the relevant post-it to the rate confirmation and trash the rest.
