Anybody find it odd they made this eld mandate 1 week before Christmas?

Oh yeah...My Christmas come a little bit early today from Banning CA.

 

Why didn’t you have elogs?

 

You had plenty of time to get up to compliance.

 

Of all the places to try and sneak through? Banning? When you get it, make sure you mount it. That's the ticket I saw being handed out yesterday. Unmounted ELDs.

 

Possibly the DOT will be all be on overtime heading into Xmas to fatten their wallets and lighten yours

 

You could have installed the ELD any time before now to adjust to it. Then getting home for Christmas would just be another normal day.

 

LOL, crossed out DOT# but still searchable by company name. You guys need to get on the ball with your maintenance program.

I might be all wet, but I believe these types of mandates are sponsored by the mega fleets. I believe the ATA supports whatever position these megas take ($$$). The megas have to find a way to reduce to their level, carriers with a competitive edge. Same will happen with speed limiters at some point. Tin hat now off.
