About TEAM ONE & US Xpress
Recently, Kohls says, Team One Transport formed an alliance with the fourth-largest truckload carrier in the United States, U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc., based in Chattanooga, Tenn. With this alliance, "We can have the best of both worlds," he declares.
Through this partnership, Team One Transport has access to vendors and companies nationwide that will keep it profitable. In addition, "We can be small and [retain] the best ingredients that a small company has to offer," he says, noting that these benefits include the openness between its management and workers.
Looking ahead, Kohls says he sees the company staying true to its niche as a "world-class" team provider that will double its size in the next three years. "At that point, we will control our growth in order to stay true to our culture: 'small yet world class,'" he says. "There's no need to be too successful and ultimately [forget] who you are and why you are here."

I couldnt help but notice the traffic regarding this request. As the owner of Team One Transport I thought I would chime in and clear up a few questions. Team One is headquartered in Columbus, IN. We run a team operation thus the name. We have 100 trucks and the best drivers I have been associated with in my 32 years in the business. These are professional drivers and not steering wheel holders. I can sleep at night knowing that fact. We are an exclusive contractor to US Xpress. They dont own any stock in Team One nor does Team One own any stock in US Xpress. It is simply an arrangement whereby US Xpress has access to these great teams and Team One has access to US Xpress freight nationwide as well as buying power for fuel, tires, trucks, etc. Its a win win situation. As a small company we can cater to our drivers and our turnover is half that of other carriers in the industry. We are not perfect but strive to be. We talk to our drivers and are accessible to each other which is why we define it as a team. If you are looking for a good home call us at 866-446-1631. Keep the rubber side down! Kris
Captbob412 Thanks this. -
Hi Kris, and whoever may be reading this. I'm a former team driver with my husband, and we, as a team, worked for several companies, most of which were OK, but average in their dealings with drivers. The two that stood out were US Xpress and Team One, which is associated with US Xpress. Both of those companies stood head and shoulders above the rest in my opinion, and I particularly liked Team One because it truly did give the feeling of being personally involved with the drivers who worked for them.
If it hadn't been for a divorce and all the problems created by the divorce, I/we would still be working for them. Now, if I ever go on the road again, it will be in a motorhome, but will make a point of stopping by the Team One office to say "Hi" and send my regards. Keep on Truckin' Team One !!
Blessings,
Beth Hessler
