WE must be talking about a different carrier. The one I am thinking about is based in PA.

But even at $2.60 at LS that is still much better than what you are looking at.

Ask a LS driver to pull loads for you in the area. Plenty around here always willing to help. Now don't run my flats down to TX much so can't talk about the rates. But for open deck, LS is a strong first with Mercer a good second for certain regions.

Yeah we are taking 2 different companies. I don't think I know which one you're talking about.

what kind of trailer were you pulling? The $1.80 rate was for ALL miles run? Daily has some perks that most other carriers don't offer, i.e. plates (depending on mileage run), no escrow, no age limit on trucks, half-cent safety bonus. Daily is on my list of prospects, along with Mercer and Sammons:yes2557:

I think theirs a sammons driver or two on here and I was told their a good company. I talked to a daily driver the other day and he said he's doing pretty good but he lived in va.

Houston is a terrible market for just about ANY company. It has gotten as bad as FLorida and Colorado in that aspect. Lots of loads going there, but cheap crap coming back out. I can usually get over $3 mile INTO Houston, and just bounce back to LA or AR most of the time if my few agents don't have something out of the ports. It is one of those things where most of the mega carriers have the freight locked down already, since they have hundreds of trucks going into Houston, San Antonio and Laredo already, they gobble up anything they can to get the trucks back to the good markets.
