Haven't you heard of "fake ID", it works. Once you're in the system with your biometrics though, hard to get around that.

I am familiar with biometrics. That is why I do not submit DNA seeking ancestry. German records dating to 1530 something will have it on that end. Its a project I am working on. I understand our military uses it among other things these days.

I was in fort Jackson, SC in 1987. Boot camp. I’m guessing they got me already. I did the ancestry thing. Quite interesting :)

EVERY CDL school will find someone to loan you money. Most states participate in a program whose initials are WOI ow WIA. It's something to do with Worker Opportunity Act or Worker Improvement Act I believe. It's administered through the state unemployment office. People who are unemployed or under-employed may be elegible to receive a grant, not a loan a free gift grant, to attend many types of vocational training. Getting your CDL is one of the most common types of training. People with "issue" are often required to get a "pre-hire letter" from a potential employer to get their grant for training.

Also, about 50% of trucking companies pay Tuition Reimbursement to new-hir drivers. In addition to the pay the new driver earns while working the company pays and additional amount monthly that can be used to help repay any CDL school loan.

Your background is going to limit where you can start, but DO NOT GO TO CDL SCHOOL UNTIL YOU"VE FOUND WHERE YOU WANT TO WORK. Some CDL schools are happy to take your money even if you have little prospect for finding a job.
    Find the employer
    Go to school
    Make money.

    Good luck

I've got some advice. Stay on the company. Don't call, go in person if you can. Anyway have your application ready to go and if you have to mail it make sure you keep copies. Also send a photo with the application ,let them know who you are. Call them at least once a month. It shows them you really want the job. Good Luck.

I know for a fact that Ohio has a lot of money still vested in the WIOA grant program here; was a news article on ABC6 / Columbus not too long ago. If I can find the archive, I'll post it. OP...where in Ohio are you? (If you posted it, I missed it; sorry.)

Also....CFI might be a viable option. I know you wanna go flatbed, but.... might have to start out w/boxes.
