I'm a new BCO and the Qualcomm/Omnitracs ELD(MCP50) isn't working right with my rig. It can't see the odometer reading but it can see everything else having to do with the ECM and Omnitracs isn't willing to help.
So is anybody else running an a non Omnitracs ELD? I'm curious about the units from ISE in particular.
Anybody running a non Omnitracs/Qualcomm ELD?

Not that I'm much help but you need to list make, model, and year of your tractor and it would help to know which wires you tapped into. There are two different protocols for these and I believe the one most used is J1939.
zx150 Thanks this. -
I have an old dinosaur. 91 Pete 378 Cummins Celect with J1708/J1587.
You are correct on the J1939, which my truck does not do.
Best I can tell the MCP unit is looking for the odometer reading at the wrong address. Omnitracs has told me if it doesn't plug and play they will not do anything about it.
I'm looking to purchase my own ELD but wondering if anyone has gone this route. -
Had a long phone conversation with LCAPP and they are only permitting the use of Omnitracs ELD's at this time.
ISE fleet services is working with LS to investigate other options for folks in my shoes.
Had to terminate my lease over this mess. I was assured by LS from the day I applied that ANY truck with an ECM would work with their ELD's no matter what. Wasted 2 months on getting qualified, left my previous place of employment etc.max.a Thanks this. -
What kind of trucks are yall driving and has anybody found a solution of this huge ##### problem I am in a 04 Pete with a cat and having this same issue

Isn't Landstar a reseller or partner with Omnitracs? There has got to be a reason they are so set to only allow them. Anyone know?

I don't know the exact reason but I'm sure it has to do with pricing. Also, only one computer system to integrate into theirs...just a guess?
