Wasn't the Maxxforce a collaboration between Cat and International? I think that's when they got out of road engines, and International kept the rights for future use.

We have some in a few DAF trucks.
Good on fuel and mechanically reliable.
Have had electronic problems with wiring harnesses but this is not engine related. -
Actually Trans Am replaced there entire fleet last year. They ordered something like 1,050 T660's with the MX engine.
They took a HUGE chance ordering all of the trucks with a new, untested engine. Yes it is claimed tested by the dealership before it even made it to market, but I consider that testing invalid, you can't talk to the people who did the testing.
Overall I have heard very good things about the MX engine so far. Suppose to be the most reliable and easily maintainable engine in today's engine world. -
From what I read about them on european trucks forums, thay have head gasket problems. Headbolts go all the way into water chanels and with time allow coolant up and there goes the head gasket. I understand it hasnt been corrected yet.

there are two companis in my town operating DAF105 with MX, but they got trucks two years ago and there are no mechanical issues.
They had electrical gremlins with thin wires and SCR pressure issues, that is all -

i sugest this engine was overheated before truck was sold
-
it is hard to know there is no errors in diagnostics ....but lotofthose trucks have problems maybe that problems appears only on first series of engines but i am confused about his friends 2010
-
They are lazy compared to Volvo and use more fuel and a lot of oil, all of them. No one likes them in Finland. DAF is a good truck with a bad engine. But better than Caterpillar anyway.
