Simple answer, NO, stick with cummins, we have pacaar engines here in DAF trucks , I bought two new ones in 2003, the first had to be rebuilt at 230,000 kms, the second 540,000 kms, no joke! Ask anyone here, I haven't heard of one making the 1million mark, average life of pacaar engine is 500,000 to 600,000 kms, not even miles
-
Yup me, rubbish , stay away from them, DAF engine guaranteed not to last more than 600,000kms ( yup kilometres ) , I can absolutely vouch for that first hand as I was one of the unlucky guys that bought two of them, power is ok, mileage is ok but they will break , garunteed!

Just seen what this man wrote after my last posts, he is completely right, talking absolute sense, the daf xf 95 came here as the new best thing, shortly afterwards it wasn't anymore, one of mine wore out at 230,000 kms, did the dealer want to know? Did the warranty count? Did he care? Answer is NO

hi cowboy driver, i said the US was testing for Europe, this means the engine in the US at the moment will be the engine spec used in Europe for our Euro 6 emmissions which are your EPA10.

My father has mostly DAF's but they run more than 1 million KM's.
Maybe because it's here prety flat in Holland. -
Could be, our roads are really crap, alot of hard pulling, slowing down taking corners then trying to accelerate back up again before the next bend, in Europe most of my work would have been fridges to Italy so that was hard going too, but most dafs in lreland dont make it, the conditions have alot to do with it I guess
