He said he thought he was gonna die so he closed his eyes right after he swerved towards all the stopped cars…

I know I’m behind on this thread- but it sounded like you just suggested that a driver of an out of control semi should’ve checked google maps or waze?!

I read that wrong right? I’m totally certain I read that wrong.

    Yeah...makes lots of sense.

@Humblepie, could you please repeat your thoughts on this matter? I would greatly appreciate it

It's just one more piece of information (google maps) to keep you informed. Obviously a series of mistakes had to take place for this trucker to reach his fiery conclusion. Any one of these mistakes, made correct, more than likely would have prevented this disaster. This disaster should be part of every CDL classroom study.

    Now that I agree with.

I had an instructor that tried to get us to understand the potential of these trucks to cause death and destruction, he'd give different scenarios always followed with 'and life as you know it will be drastically changed forever'.

With more and more dash cam video of stuff like this becoming available that point would be made much more effectively.

As for this crash I really have no words.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say "classroom study" shouldn't even be a part of getting your cdl, you aren't going to learn Jacksquat about driving a truck sitting at a desk. I haven't learned a single thing about driving anything sitting in a classroom.

I always thought that the classroom was all about how to fill out log books, load securement regs, and so on, but I have had several recant grads prove me wrong. I am not sure what is taught in the classroom.
    Probably just the test answers.

The log book stuff I could see a little classroom time for, but that has nothing to do with actually driving a truck, or even getting your cdl.

    Yessir.
This is the exact same mentality that the mass shooters have. Cowards don’t want to go by themselves, they always have to involve innocents.

And of course, the Bleeders will want to know what was going through his mind and tell us that we were not there and do not understand his ordeal...

Hmmm, what do cowards think about in times of high stress? Their own arse.
