I'm building the trailer this way b/c it looks the way I want it to. It's gonna have a lift axle on front, a dump axle on rear. 13 lights per side. 16 lights on rear. Scalematic, stainless boxes between axles, upgraded suspension, 8 polished aluminum wheels. The trailer will be a work trailer first, but it's also built to be a show trailer. The suspension is being painted from the factory to match the tractor. Which is a custom color. All and all it's my last step deck that I'm buying for me. I've bought plenty of equipment over the years that I've let other guys use. This one is what I want, 50,000$ for a step deck is expensive, if I'm spending that kind of money I want it to look a certain way. I would have liked a 48 ft so the bridge law wouldn't be an issue but the freight I haul needs a 40 ft bottom deck. And a 53 ft trailer puts me over length with how long the tractor is. If I don't fit on the scale I know it will cause problems. If I fit on the scale usually they kinda look the other way and let you slide on 3 inches.

Go for it. Most every big purchase I've made over the last 10+ years has been ordered specifically to my specs cause most dealers won't stock what I want in options. Seems people don't know they have a choice in options besides the most common you see on dealer lots. A lot of salesmen don't know they're available either till they call the manufacturer.
If that's how you want it you will be happier ordering it your way knowing it's 3" over bridge than you will be getting it tucked under and wishing you didn't.

I already committed to the trailer I just wanted to see if anyone has had issues before with this type of thing. And from the looks of it I'll be fine. Build starts at the end of next month. If I ever figure out how to post pics I'll try to put them up here. My wife and I are going to the factory to take some pics of the build. Getting new equipment is always exciting.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.
