40 - 50k for a truck with almost a million miles? I would think you can do better than that and get a truck which is more efficient. Any truck you buy needs to be checked by a third party including a thorough review of repair and maintenance records.
Anyone buy an old TMC rig?

But, yea, those trucks are over priced. Check truck paper. 379's are all over priced. You could easily find a lower miles truck with much better mpg and reliability for less money. But, if you want a 379 or w900, you will pay for the look.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Speaking from over 20 yrs experience in sales, the most important rule when buying cars and trucks is this, you don't have to buy this particular truck, but they have to sell it!
Chinatown, fortycalglock, rollin coal and 2 others Thank this. -
No it's not an inframe. Just head and injectors. Rods, mains, pistons, and liners you have to drop the pan -

This is an investment. A huge investment. I know they are very nice trucks but I couldn't buy one with out the history to back it up. You can find another nice pete for around the same price with records and even warranties. I am going to look at one next saturday. 05 379EXHD with a C15 3.36 rears and a 13sp. Just had an in-frame, trans rebuilt, and rears rebuilt. Engine/trans/rears come with 2 yr/200k mile warranty. All that for $62,000. Or, you can spend $40,000 - $55,000 on the TMC truck and not know if its going to blow up in a week and if it does then you are screwed because they don't offer a warranty. Not trying to tell you what to do but as someone who had TMC on top of the list, I would search other places for a truck.Battle Born and bigred81 Thank this. -
