That's how I'm figuring my spreadsheets, and if I'm right it's not to bad as long as I can get 2,500 miles per week. Anything below that I start making less than a company driver at my current job. Other than budgeting other items (i.e. oil, windshield wipers, etc.) is their anything I should adjust?

I spoke with US Xpress, and they have now raised their required maintenance escrow to .12. That is reflected in the spreadsheet above. (Can't actually post my excel spreadsheet). I'm also deducting 15% from Pre-Tax Take Home. I've never been self employed so I'm just guessing their. I'm hoping final truck deductions would off set some of that.

I've plugged 6 months worth of data into the spreadsheet and a few things have popped up (yes, I went back to see what the fsc, and avg. fuel cost would be). 1: I must be above 2,500 to get a reasonable paycheck. 2: Contrary to what people say, buying your own truck from a dealer isn't a money saver as they would suggest. Yes, you do have the "freedom" of "owning" your truck, but you still have a payment, and if you made mistakes in your past (for example I was a young private in the military...) you can pay just as much per week/month as you would a L/P.

So if I have forgotten anything or if my numbers look off please help me out. Really trying to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into before I take the plunge.

    Thanks! :)

It doesn't look as bad as it seems. But it's not good either. Im hoping that my fuel would be less per gallon than it is now. The 93 cpm is the average of ppm for the week worth of trips.

These numbers aren't with the company so I can't get real numbers, but I believe these are rough enough to get an idea.

If I could get fuel below 2.00 pg then that would of course help.

The.02 tire escrow is rolled into maintenance escrow.

But adding some of the fees you mentioned... I am not sure if I could make this work. I would need to run 2700 a week just to make a decent paycheck.. Am I missing something here?

the .02 is for TIRES ONLY...... it's own account..... basic is your truck has a tire account.....all the money paid into it is ON PAPER is yours but really it's a pool of all the lease trucks so if and when you need a tire(s) they are paid for even if you don't have the money in YOUR tire account...;;; lets say you have your truck for 5 weeks and you blow a tire...... you don't have enough in your tire account to covers it.... well they just get you a new tire zero out your tire account (you don't owe the extra) and your account starts over......

the real reason is that when you get your truck it's not new and the tires will not be new........ some drivers will need new tires in 6 months and some my not need them for 2 years.. you would have to run your tires 200,000 miles to build up enough to cover the cost of 8 new drivers........ your weekly settlement sheet will show BOTH accounts

the oc/ac ins..... occ/acc ins...... scanning and sitcom fee = $99.66 a week.... if you do 4 fuel stops add $4.... @ 2,500 miles a week the tire fund would be $50
