Yes. This is I-81 near Watertown yesterday (actually it's like this almost every day) and it's certainly not the Jeffersons

Hey Skate-Board, I too have never spent the holiday's on the road, as family meant a lot to me too. Now, with most family grown or gone, I guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal now. Thanks for truckin' over the holiday's, driver.

Wanted to work the 24th & onward, but $1.50 rates out of California were not worth starting the truck. Finally got a $3/mile load the other day, but it required driving a chain-restricted pass:

Second time in 3 years I had to chain -- took me an hour to get them right. People driving by laughing at the fool reading the instructions on his brand new bag of chains... New Year's Resolution: start lifting weights again so I can throw 445 chains over the tire in one motion.

Would have been nice if ODOT plowed & deiced rather than just compacted & graveled -- hasn't snowed on that stretch in almost a week...

Husband has a crack from thrown gravel off road that had been salted and graveled. Out for both holidays. Had to chain up at the truckstop in Rawlins to get moved around on the 24th. Chained up twice going through Idaho, he says he had cut down his time by 40 min. He is happy to leave the area now. And if it isn't snow and ice, it is wind, ie Salt Lake area, he luckily missed having to shutdown for that.

Have a safe New Year and remember to leave plenty of room ahead of you, just in case.
