Is anyone else getting the calls/emails from the big yellow box wanting you to do power only loads? Seems they have freight sitting on the dock they just can't move. I and others have received phone calls and now emails trying to find someone, anyone to haul their cheap freight. How does this sound?

    $1.15 per mile
    $.395 FSC
    $0.85 deadhead
$50/hr for detention after 2 hours
Other unidentified rates for other accessorials
    Paid in 10 days

You do have to provide some additional insurance.

Big carrier, big shippers, lots of freight. If you haven't heard of this or are interested, PM me and I'll be happy to share the contact info. I don't think the TOS allows me to share more than I have already.

A friend of mine did that for that company and almost went broke. They have had that "plan" in place for several years now. There are a bunch of the large carriers doing this now. They all pretty much have the same crappy pay package too.lol

it seems that my Co. also offers a L/O pkg.similar to this one, i have put the numbers to it and decided it would not be worth it as well.

so the Q is how are these guys doing IT? or are they?

Of the ones I know approached by this carrier, everyone one of them has shot them down, but first provided them a counter offer. I can't think of anyone who could afford to do this. But I wonder why they don't have their company drivers covering these loads.

This is exactly why rates are what they are. Big companies come in and bid cheap, cheap, cheap and then sqawk, sqawk, sqawk when they can't cover them.

I see an opportunity looming on the horizon...... In fact, a letter writing campaign to the companies whose freight they are trying to move may just be in order.
