Hello streetbeater, several weeks later now and I finally have the truck and a few incoming dumpsters. I want to know how you remember unloading dumpsters coming from the steel factory. Two 30 size dumpsters are coming in one inside the other and I am not sure how these things are going to come off the truck. Thanks for the input

Depends on the shipping company, ive seen em on a step deck, either one inside the other flat and normal or the one inside is on edge, or if they do enough locally they may have a semi trailer designed for 2 boxs and he will just drop them off. If its a flatbed of any kind they will have them loaded backwards so you just backup to the trailer and pick them up like you would off the ground, if they are doubled up, just put it on the ground open and secure the door, then pick up the box, the inside one will slide out, and if it on edge just use your stinger to get under the edge and flip it upright, but when your sliding it out, stop before its completely out, put some dunnage down to keep the edge off the ground

There are a few tricks to roll them over with minimal chance for damage, but that depends on the space you have to do it and the gear at your disposal, i.e. skid steer, long chains, a good pile of dirt, a large grassy area to soften the roll....

The dumpsters are ready to work except the truck, different brake chamber springs keep breaking and so failing the state inspection.

Streetbeater I have some questions about mack trucks or rather just certain things related to manual transmission.
    1. Is it alright to service brake when pulling the yellow knob for the spring brake? Can I do this at the same time or is there procedure?
    2. On the roll-off, is it normal to rev high when using the PTO?
    3. Do you leave the truck on gear or neutral when parking on a level surface overnight?

Not sure what you mean on 1#

2, yes. It takes alot of practice to run hydros while in gear, in a manual. It can be done but 99 percent of the time just drop into nut, and rev to around 15, dont floor it, ruin pumps and blow hoses that way. 14 to 1500 and your good, you will do this both to speed up the rack excc.. and when dumping a stuck load, you rev to 15 and a quick back and forth on the winch stick will bang the box into your horns and jar loose any stuff that is stuck

3, drivers preference, i never leave it in gear, some guys always leave in gear... ive been told you MUST leave it in gear.... yeahhh. Still dont. :)

If on 1 your talking adjusting brakes? You choke the tires, release the brake, snug down, use a screwdriver or that funky tool to hold back the locking deal and back it off a quarter turn. At least thats how i did it when i meassed with my own...

Good stuff, I've only once dropped a dumpster so I need a lot of practice.

I mean when you are parking the truck do you just pull the knob even though your foot is on the service brake? Is this advisable ?

Oh, yeah. The knob in allows the service brake to work, foot on pedal, pull knob, let idle for 5 min, turn key off... :) you cant mess up brakes by doing that, there part of the same system. Your broken Springs are a different issue
