I have. It was no big deal for me because I worked at Angola (Louisiana State Prison) '79 - 81.
From '07 - '12, I worked fr a company that sold wood products, mostly for cabinet makers.... ply-board, lumber & they cut their own molding, etc.
I used to deliver to a Federal prison in Oakdale, La. It must be a mostly minimum security because just like Joseph said, there wasnt a lot of checks or anything, inmates walking all around, you just pull up, tell'em what you got, show'em what to get & the inmates do all the work. Not really a lot different from a county prison with minimum security. Really wasnt a big deal at that specific prison. A lot different from Angola.
anyone ever deliver to a prison ?

i delivered freight to the prisons twice. load of toilet paper to Green valley (Salinas, ca) prison and inmates unloaded it. the second place was about 12 miles northeast of California city, ca. in the middle of desert ! they unloaded the truck outside of facility. Prison personal unloaded my truck. looks like that facility has high security elevation.

I have, federal and state. Well defined protocols, punctual on/off, good customers. The feds took and held my phone, tablet, and switchblade at the gate while I was inside. So far no problems.

overall deliveries at prisons are nice and easy, not like at chemical plants where they make you watch stupid movies..)))
