Took one three weeks ago and barely passed, it was kinda exhausting and I was sore for a couple days after. Talked to other guys after I got the job and they agreed it is/was ludicrous. One of the test involved tipping a FULL 55 drum on its side and rolling it up and down a handicap style ramp 3 times then picking it back up. There is no practical application for that and they make you sign all kinds of waivers saying if you get hurt it's on you. One day your gonna have to go to company boot camp first before you can go to work.
Anyone ever fail a preemployment stress test physical?

The guy administering even offered to help ha -
I had a pre-employment stress test for a prior gig, that involved doing things like jumping jacks, running a short flight of stairs, etc. followed by heart rate and blood pressure measurements. A full 55-gal drum is not something to lay down...there is no logical reason anyone should do that.

I tip my wife over and roll her down the steps all the time like a giant slinky

WTF??!?
Care to share what carrier had you do that?americanmadetrucker Thanks this. -
Im thinking the "55 gal drum roll" is pratice in case you run out of fuel and then need to steal one from a farmer.
TequilaSunrise, NavigatorWife, americanmadetrucker and 6 others Thank this. -
That's exactly what I told the guy. You'd be an idiot to lay one on it's side to roll it up a ramp. The worst are the drums of anti freeze, they suck.NavigatorWife and rachi Thank this.

I'd almost say a call to OSHA would get the drum tilt and roll taken off the test.

Maybe some carriers had drivers that didnt have strength to lower landing gear on trailers? Never heard of these tests. Wonder what the reason might be.
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
