Not very often. Usually the only time we teamed in it was whiling getting back home from a longer trip.

We would find a dock and drive the pilot car up on the flatbed, then team back home.

Farthest we went for that company was Gillette, WY….

What drive axles do you have on your truck… just wondering because of the weight you were talking about putting on them. I am not trying to tell you what to do with your truck but routine overloading seems to break them around the spring perch…or at least that’s what happens to my dump trucks and then they get replaced with 46s and problem solved.

Haven’t got the chance to try yet. I borrowed a trailer and so help me goodness, I’ve been busy replacing bearings, seals, and brakes.

I can’t imagine why anyone would let a piece of equipment get in this shape!!! Some hubs had gotten water in them and the rust had pitted the rollers of the bearing.

Frame wise the trailer is in great condition, the roll around and slow down moving parts not so much lol.

    Maybe I’m just to particular…..

Glad to see that I am not the only one who has these kind of problems when borrowing equipment.
Is that actually a 50 ton trailer? The beams just look really thin compared to my 55 ton.

The main frame of the trailer makes my 35 ton look like a tinker toy. The frame over the axles are just a little thinner, but frame in the well is like 10 1/2” wide compared to the 7” wide of my 35 ton. The cylinder in the neck is quite a bit larger than my lowboy too. Owner said it’s a 50 ton….

That's one way to handle those heavy Dayton wheel/hub assemblies!

Not a real good picture, but the frame in the well 10 1/4” or 10 1/2” wide and the top & bottom flange 5/8” thick, frame is 16 1/2” tall. My 35 ton is 7” wide and a lot thinner. Thinking the cross members are 10” tall….

Didn’t get to scale it, but it was definitely heavy. Bucket of bolts handled it just fine….
