Hell just last week I had a load of ATVs going to 3 stops from El Paso to WV. I get to the last stop and the guy is like we have a problem come inside. He proceeded to scream and yell and call me a ####ing idiot for bringing him the wrong ATV. Turned out I brought him a very expensive ATV, just about 24,000 less expensive than the one he had ordered. Guess where his was? I had to eat 650 free West Virginia miles to take the cheaper one all the way to the first customer, grab the correct one I dropped at the first stop, and drive all the way back.
Cost me 12 hours of drive time, 650 miles, plus a 3000 mile load back to the west coast. I also didn’t get my stop pay because I ####ed up the drops. I was lazy and only checking the last 3 of the VIN. Well two of them were one number apart, and 24k in value apart. I salvaged the week, but my 1800 mile load was a significantly less profitable load for me, on top of what I lost in time and hours to finis the week. Was my worst week ever with this company lol.
And then my ####### has the nerve to call the company like uh, am I being paid for those 650 miles?
She actually laughed. Could hear someone in the background asking what’s so funny. She’s like he asked if he was being paid to drive back and pick up the ATV. Then they laughed lol.
I know right. Stupid question. I’m lucky they didn’t charge me for the fuel and whatever money they lost in fines for having completely failed to deliver the right freight by the appointment time. Pretty big screw up really. Completely avoidable, but also a good learning experience.
And this wasn’t me as a new driver lol
Anyone ever make this mistake?
