anyone ever OTR fedex straight truck with a partner?

No such thing as an Otr FedEx straight truck service.

 

I've seen the custom critical fedex straight rigs but after they make the delivery they always sit for days on a reload.

 

The one’s that I’ve seen sit in a truck stop for two or three days. Eat from the hot dog roller and stand outside the door begging for a shower ticket.

 

I think it’s a contractor not fedex operating the trucks

 

Custom Critical hauls a lot of pharmaceuticals. I see them a lot where I pick up and deliver to. They always act like prima donnas. I was parked in a door overnight waiting for receiving to come get my paperwork in the AM (This was SOP) and this dude in a FXCC told me I had to move cause he gets unloaded first. I said I’d only move if receiving said to. Receiving said ‘f him’…. Your first, and now he’s last. FXCC also has 53’ers

 

FedEx CC doesn’t have otr trucks, they are expediting division of FedEx. FedEx also has supply chain and pharma specific trucks.

when there is an expedited load, they normally need to be unloaded first.

But then I ran a few of these sit and wait with landstar. In one case shut down a production line, when the dock manager saw me sitting in their lot, he was yelling at me about me just sitting and not in the dock. I told him his receiving girl told me my appointment time is not for another four hours, so he has to deal with that crap, not me … I am following my instructions. I was in a dock in four minutes.

 

In my prior life I was a warehouse supervisor at a pharmaceutical DC. A fxcc driver called me on a Saturday afternoon asking if he could unload....let's just say the disappointment in his voice was measurable when I told him we were not receiving until Monday.

By the way, 1st year of trucking driving pays better than a supervisor job, if you pick the right company. And all warehouses are as terrible as the stories from Amazon.

 

I’ll move anytime the receiver/shipper asks. But for 3 years I’ve been hauling flu vaccine to this facility and we always park in the door and are first to unload. It was just a self important fed ex guy who thought he could bully his way in first.
I’ve hauled plasma to another place where we also parked in the door and got unloaded and reloaded before anyone else. I gladly moved when they had an airport load that had to get out first.
