Anyone ever saw an in-dash CB mount?

These things are great! Radio has just about all the bells and whistles you can think of, and fit's nicely in the dash. Seeing 400w's out of it using a 1x2 amp.

Of course, kidding you about the previous setup. I think President worth the effort you’ve expended. More in line, IMO, with “you” (online presence).

I’m thinking about a seat bolt laptop stand with the smaller TRC-1 TAC COMM Radio Carrier for my 4-door Dodge Cummins. And a Laird Antenna NMO Mount. Can all be stashed away easily when away from truck under bed topper with other gear.

Although I don’t have Amateur licensure, it’s with that in mind for the future per any installs on truck & travel trailer. Don’t want to do things twice if it can be avoided. Impressed that Alan (K0BG) said it took him 4-5 days to do the complete system install on his little pickup.

Oh I agree previous installs I did mounting radios in the dash, the radios were as basic as they come, but were all that was available at the time that were small enough you could stick them in the dash and not have to do major surgery on the dash to get them to fit...

Usually when you go with the smaller radios, you end up sacrificing features, and performance of the larger case size radios...When I first seen the New President line of radios was a couple years ago, but they were all just being marketed in the UK...Think the President McKinley USA just started showing up here at the end of 2017, but marketing didn't kick off till this year. (least I never herd of the McKinley till last few months)...One thing I can't figure out, is why it took so long for a manufacturer to start building a true DIN size radio? Everyone knows most cars and trucks have not been "CB radio" friendly for decades...Big trucks usually have a place designed to install a CB, but not so much passenger vehicles.

I remember back in the 70's there was all kinds of room to mount a radio, but by the time the 80's rolled around cars started getting smaller and it was harder to mount one....Cars and trucks today it's almost impossible...Least with these newer compact radios it makes it a little easier to install one without having to sacrifice performance or features.

4-5 days is a bit of time on an install, I’m still tinkering with mine every day almost, but anyone else would probably say leave it alone. I’ve been working on my antenna system for the past 8 months in this truck now. The radio mount is a whole other story.

Install looks good, I do custom stereo installation in 4 wheelers on the side, so I'm a stickler for clean installs. I'd just like to have a #### cd player or radio with a usb port so I could listen to my own #### tunes. I just can't bring myself to purchase a stereo to put in my company truck and deal with the mess it would be to install in that old dog. Maybe I can convince the boss the buy one ha.

8 months of getting everything as right as I want it to be JJD. Everything on the Silverado is bonded right. Sure it all could have been done in a few days strictly dedicated to the install, it all went in phases. Changes occurred throughout the install.

First started with a mount behind the cab until I drilled into the cab, then different coax, again with different coax when the first replacement failed at a connection, three different antennas before the final, and then on to the extensive bonding.

Previously I would pick up a lot of electrical noise from different things around the house even in my yard, not to mention driving around from traffic lights and the new sensors and garbage the have at the lights. Now my noise floor is barely even audible, 2-3s of noise before is flat. It took that long to finally be where I am, most of it daily work, but not full time.

Sounds familiar. I get frustrated with company truck, but am cheered by better results (so long as I don’t add up receipts, ha!).

The family truck is a whole other matter. I take encouragement from your work. Thanks.
