Razor blade type knife to cut line.
    Wrenches
    I pack brass compression fittings.
And compression sleeves for those breaks that happen right at the glad hand.

That SHOULD be standard equipment for ALL trucks.

Instead of tape, clamps, and superglue.

Less chance of dot putting you oos.

My very first local job supplied us with essentials for basic repairs so they wouldn't have to send out their own mechanics for stupid repairs.

They also supplied us with tool kits which we had to purchase taken out of our check.

You all need to get the right tools to cut the airline. It needs to be cut flat and the tool is like $30. Amazon has them, most Parker stores have them and even a few dealers have them, just do it right.

yeah and you cut it at an angle, then it leaks, get the right tools and stop being lazy.

Literally 1000's of airline fittings with a box cutter and never a leak.

I use this. And when it comes open wherever it’s stored it’s easy to find once you slice your finger!

Electrical tape and a hose clamp over the leak.
If I remember right fix the dam side of the road repairs ASAP
That repair could turn into a ticket.

Geez, a compression fitting seals by the ferrule around the nipple, not the end of the hose in the fitting.

I think the reference to Parker-Hannifin, the company that makes plastic lines,
was in reference to a small black cutter they sell that has a vee block that the cutter is square to?
Yes, i have one in the shop kit I use. I also use the push in connectors with the release sleeve,
you push in to release the hose. they're cheap and fast.

WOW, This thread turned into way more than it is.

There are repairs in the field that will put you OOS in a heartbeat,
you want to just get back to the barn to do a proper repair.

NEVER leave a fix, when it needs a proper repair.
A proper repair is to replace the entire line to eliminate the splice.

I once wrapped a rubber glove around an airline and many wire ties.
    No tools in that truck.
    Fix it or sit.
    I fixed it.
