Anyone ever work at CREngland for more than 1 year?

Discussion in 'Questions From New Drivers' started by NewtonTrucker, Feb 9, 2012.

  1. So I know all about the terrible stuff that people say about CR England, but I just don't see how it can be such a huge company if everyone gets fired right away or doesn't get any hours or anything. They told me they'd give me my cdl, train me and hire me, but I want to know :

Has anyone has ever stayed with them for more than the 1 year that they require?

    Anyone?

Ever hear of driver turnover ?
    http://www.truckersnews.com/driver-turnover-rises/

This means if a carrier has 10,000 drivers they will have 7,900 drivers quit in a year .
It would be interesting to know what percentage of a carrier's drivers have been there over a year . If half their drivers have been there over a year then the 7,900 drivers that left were in only 5,000 trucks .
79% is average turnover . I bet CRE has considerably higher than average .

For my wife and I, it'll be 3 years in mid-April.

Good luck finding anymore respondents to your thread. Not too many non-hater's of CRE don't hang out here at TTR because of all the "wonderful" respect we get. People get tired of having to prove everything to everybody and then get labeled as a shill, cheerleader or recruiter in disguise.

Surprisingly, yes. I do know of someone that is still with them, and it has now been just over 2 years. He likes it there. I think it all goes to a few things. What you put into it and what you get back out of it. All the companies out there, if you listen long enough, will be terrible to work for.

But in the end, someone DOES work at these places, many staying for dozens of years.

Question I would ask myself is, "would I want to work there"?

    For me personally, no.

But this is because from my point of view, I did my time and don't need to work for a "mega-company".

Companies need a certain percentage of great drivers they are willing to invest in. Just need to work hard and become one of them and have a little luck along the way
