Looking for advice from someone who is getting good swr readings. How did you set up your antenna system? Something Primes ok with so no issues at end of lease.
Anyone getting good swr's with a Cascadia?

The factory antenna is junk!
Run your own coax and get a bird perch mount. I did that with a Francis 5.5 Hotrod antenna and got decent SWR reading.
That is a long fiberglass antenna that gets it up high enough.
The truck I had used the integrated CB,FM,TV antenna and my CB refused to hear past a 1/4 mile.....pure crap for CB....The TV worked ok on it.
The antenna was about 20 bucks online.Danfromwindsor Thanks this. -
I have a 4' fiberglass antenna attached to the air line bar that runs across the back of the cab. I put it on the far drivers side. Its far from perfect but it works better than the built in antenna and my Galaxy DX979 has no problem with it.

Some companies allow no modifications. I don't work for one of them that is this way.
The swr in the 2013 I drive wasn't good with the stock setup and radio reception is only what I would call fair.
I could get out maybe 2 miles in good conditions. Half a mile in noisy conditions.
I'm using a heavy machined bracket attached to the front two bolts of the driver's side mirror with a heavy duty stud and 7 foot Firestick, the range on receive is much better, it gets out more reliably, and SWR is no longer an issue.Danfromwindsor Thanks this.
