I check the swr with an AA then put the radio in the truck and then I don't do a thing.
I do not keep anything in line, nothing to distract me and if there is an antenna issue, I will see it on the meter on the radio,
Anyone got an swr meter the would like to sell to me?

That meter(s) looks like it might be larger than my on-board Uniden 520, RL 203P and Workman SWR meter put together. It looks a mite big and musclebound for my simple in-line SWR assignment :=)
If I had an SWR meter on the radio I'd cut the Workman SWR from its upstream assignment, but my little Uniden 520 has no space for its own SWR.
Edit: Does an SWR meter on the radio help the upstream amplifier should an SWR "event" occur farther upstream from the amp in the coax or antenna?Last edited: Feb 14, 2018

More connections equals more potential problems not to mention more noise in your system. It's best to use it and remove it after adjusting the antenna. It looks like you can find one for five bucks on eBay.

Wire those ruby eyes to come on when the SWR gets too high, warning you to back off or things will get dangerous!
