A little touchy? Or just can't help yourself to read waaaaaaay more into a post than what's there?
I didn't "insist" on anything. Never even mentioned anyone being in the truck or getting "murdered". Just relaying facts. So, you tell me, how is that "rude"? I don't get it. I never even said that it WOULD get stolen. I said "probably".
They are no more "fools" than you. You already told everyone that YOU have no problem advertising what's in your truck ("It sounds great nothing like pulling up to a light and having people look around to see what's bumping and then do a double take at that the truck"). Do you really think that NOBODY is taking note? I bet your local meth head is.
Have a great day.
Anyone have an aftermarket stereo system in the truck?

My playlist changes a lot! I need some new metal....and some new audio books.nofreetime Thanks this. -
And no I have not looked in to the Alpine rack...I did briefly try to find one of those old powered sub tubes though....that had the amp built in and made for a easy clean install.....but they seemed to have disappeared from the planet Erf.

No free time, your amp being that hot, maybe underpowered for what you have. I've had similar problem with an amp. Upgrade to 1000W you'll find it runs cooler. Keep in mind having all the settings turned up in the head unit puts more load on the amp. Try setting the lpf @ 80ohm and hpf @ 100ohm .

To keep amps cool just make an amp rack with a 6" computer tower fan on one end to pull/push air threw. Of course you want the rms rating of the amp to match the speakers, ideally the amp should be a tad more than the speaker 50 to 100 rms more. If you go to much above the speaker rms you can blow the speaker. Also different classes of amps generate different amounts of heat. Unless you are aiming for a specific set up I would stick with a class D amp.
The big deciding factor on your heat output also relates to how many ohms you run the amp at. I run two HD600/4's pushing 2 pairs of Hertz HSK 165 6.5's @ 1.5 ohms So it is 150 wrms going into 125 wrms speaker. I run the sub amp 2850wrms @ 1 ohms pushing 3 JL 10 W6's in a single sealed box, that is 950 wrms going into a 600wrms sub. And quite frankly the JL's could take more, but I can't! With the proper set up amp rack it can be cranked for hours on end and never stops. It just requires air flow. I have a jbl ms-8 and the above amps all in the same rack and have no issues. -
