Tried to qualify last week. Was told to do two things better and wait 60 days. My fm offered to talk to trainer board fm, to see if I could be approved anyway.
My advice would be to have patience. Your students will make mistakes, so you need to coach them how to correct them. I've had a run of students lately that are getting bad trainers. I didn't realize we had so many. I'm talking trainers sleeping while their students drive, bad language, combative, etc. I must be the rescue trainer because they keep sending them to me to clean up the mess. It's amazing some of these students haven't quit after what they've been though.
Being a student, that is disturbing to hear...about the bad trainers. It is hard enough to learn the skills needed let alone deal with an jerk that doesn't care. Good to know there are some good ones left! Redrider hurry up and get out here... Or maybe I will get him as my trainer! LOL
No doubt, hopefully someone cancels before the 16th. Told Kim not to forget that I only live an hour away so if someone calls on a Friday I can be there no problem on Sunday night!!
This goes to all the students out there. If you have any problems with your trainer or any of the things happen that I listed, let your FM know and you'll get reassigned. Roehl has some fantastic trainers as well, so I certainly don't mean to sound like it's all doom and gloom.
Question: What is Roehl's policy on cameras in the trucks? I have heard that some trucks have cameras that record what the driver is doing to get them in trouble.
