My hubby has orientation scheduled for FFE in a week and I can't find any current info for them. Is there anyone that drives for them right now or recently that can give us some details for the company?
Thanks,
jennyrjd

Yeah, FFE is all over this forum, but, I'll give you some basic info about them. FFE, American Eagle and Lisa are under the same umbrella, based in Dallas, Tx. 48 state carrier, reefer and dry (American Eagle). Established in '46, family run (Stubbs Family). About 6-8 terminals around the country.(some are drop lots) Not real good home time. I worked ther in '96 and '97 and '99. There are better companies and there are worse. Good luck.

Thanks Allow Me,
I went on their web site last night and read about them. He has two choices right now, FFE or USA Trucking. I've read the threads about both of them and since we live in the Dallas area and the pay and training time seem to be better then FFE it is!

January 1st 2010
Hello Everybody:
I am headed off to the FFE Orientation in Dallas TX on the 9th. I am just curious about what It's all about and whether or not It's difficult to get a job there.
How is It working and Training for FFE?
Thanks. Talk to You Later. -
Hello Kb3b,
My hubby starts on January 3rd. Check-in at the MGM Grande at 3pm and start paperwork at 4pm and then he said something about a welcome dinner that evening. I will post what I find out as we go along. We live in Dallas area so De Soto is not that far away.
Also,
There are a lot of threads on FFE on this forum like everyone says and there is a lot of information. I could not find anything more current than January of 2010 so let me know if you do. We chose FFE because it is close and he has a little experience driving reefers. They are supposed to be a training company and he has only driven for 4 1/2 months and he needs more training.
Good luck to you and God bless you in this new year! -
jennyrjd i am assuming your hubby has only been driving for 4.5 months and i assume they are with the same company..my question to you is why is he considering leaving his current company to go over to ffe?..also who does he drive for now?
-
Jennyrjd:
Yes, I looked around the forum and I did'nt find much of anything about FFE from very recently. I would normally expect that any company that treats Its employees well at Orientation is probably a Good company. I will just have to try to find out as I am progressing.
I wonder about how long they will train various recent graduates?
Happy New Year and I Hope that It all works out for Your people.

A little more about FFE orientation. If you're going with a trainer, they will ask if you prefer a smoker or non-smoker. Male or Female. You will get out of there faster if you are open to going with anyone. Also remember, sometimes, they bus you to another truck in another city. And you may sit around the terminal for a few days waiting for the trainer to show. Which means hauling your stuff from the room to the terminal and back to the room if the trainer doesn't show. So travel light.
jennyrjd Thanks this.
