The part in bold makes your interest in the Pace terminal make a lot of sense. Best of luck to ya.

I've been with McKenzie for 15 years. Not a bad company. Pulled refers before that for about 8 years, no comparison.
We have a lot of drivers who have been here longer.
That gold team was just started a few months ago, still up in the air as far as how beneficial it is.
MTL will keep you busy if you want to run and they are very much into the safety thing. Plenty of time to deliver etc.
Plus they pay for all demege, breakdown , tank wash time etc.

Redcon. One and 88 Alpha Thank this.

And the Pace fl. And Tallahassee terminals have picked up a lot of gasoline contracts, they are looking for local drivers for that.
But a lot of their chemical hauling goes to Texas and Midwest.

Thanks for posting mustang190. The terminal manager was telling me about some of the safety features onboard their equipment. I was told their front facing dash cameras can pick up the numbers on speed limit signs and send them a 10 second clip if you are going over the speed limit so much as a couple mph. Can you get a little more in depth with how much safety devices are installed in their company trucks? I hadn't heard about tech like that before in a truck. As far as staying OTR and being able to gross between 70k-80k is that a realistic number if a driver is staying out 4+ weeks at a time? The terminal manager didn't have the figures in front of him during our phone call in reference to hourly pay during demerge and layover, how is this paid out?

Which terminal did you talk to?
We have had several terminal managers replaced in the last couple of months.
All the new Volvos have the VORAD systems and the lane departure systems. There is a event recorder which transmits when there is a hard brake or a impact .
I've never heard of a camera recording the speed limit signs???
Driver's get layover, tankwash, breakdown and demerge pay per hourly rate I think it's up to $15 hour. Plus you get pump off pay. And $21 meal money

I drive local now and payed hourly. Every once in a while I will do a overnight.
The work also depends on which terminal your assigned too. But as a OTR/system driver you can go and run out of any terminal and do broker loads. Plus you can say how long you want to stay out.
They have also just opened a terminal in Charlotte nc.

Your breakdown, tank wash etc. Starts as soon as you enter it in the Qualcomm, plus annotate it on your dispatch paperwork.
OTR pay starts at over .51cents depending on experience.

    Redcon.One Thanks this.

Our trucks (non-Volvo) have the Bendex system in them, with a forward-facing camera and every time you drive by a speed limit sign, the Bendex display shows the posted speed. If you are exceeding the speed limit, it audibly lets you know. Is it recording the speed limit signs? Not sure but not bothered by it either.

Alright, sounds pretty standard across the board. I was speaking with the Pace, FL terminal manager. Have you had any experience with him? His name is Jason.
